I just spent a frustrating half day trying to make a port on the
3b2 Expanded I/O card do the right thing. Using a breakout box
between the port and a terminal, I can watch the print spooler
send data to this paperless printer. I can stop the flow of
data by dropping DTR (pin 20) going to the port. But somewhere
inside that I/O card the buffer pointer keeps on going. So when
I raise DTR and the data comes out again, there is a large chunk
of it missing.
Is there any way to use hardware handshaking on one of these ports,
or do I need to convert my printers to use XON-XOFF?
