I am interested in buying a printer for my ATT UNIXPC. I have hesitated up until now because I use the laser printer at school, but now I feel that I want hard copy faster. I also want to be able to do screen dumps to the printer. I understand that the EPSON printer will be able to transfer the graphics. Anyone have any suggestions? I rather not buy an ATT printer as ATT might suggest, so I am looking for a compatible. Incidently, the way to do the screen dump is SHIFT-PRINT key for those of you who have not yet tried this combination of key-stroke. Also could someone post a list of available hardware and software available for the UNIXPC. Either a list of Convergent hardware, software, ATT stuff or third party stuff would be appreciated. Names and addresses of third party vendors would also be good. They're e-mail address would be good if they are on the net :-) --- If they are on the net do you here me? -- --------------------------- Todd Cooper UUCP: ...!harvard!bu-cs!todd ...!harvard!think!festiv!todd CSNET: todd@bu-cs BITNET: cscpyqc@bostonu USNail: 29 Gordon Street #201, Brighton, MA 02135

I had to adjust the lp model to handle the screen dumps correctly. One can download fonts to this printer. I was able to get most of the nroff/troff special symbols stored into it. The main complaint I have with the printer is that when in "corres- pondence quality" mode it can't do bold or italics. Also I have had some problems with bands of darker dots appearing when printing graphs and such. Adnan Yaqub @ Allen-Bradley ...!decvax!abic!acy
