The 7300 terminal emulator supports an autologin sequence via an option in the modem profile. The documentation, briefly explains how to construct a series of expect and response strings. Perhaps my application is non-standard. The system I wish to call up expects me to make the first move. It autobauds by reading my first return. It looks like the 7300 autologin sequence requires the remote machine to print first, and I don't see how to defeat it. In addition the sequence I must go through is not very reliable. There is at least one other tricky place in the dialog where I would like the 7300 to timeout on a missing expect string, and transmit an alternate response. I don't see how to do this either. In short, I am looking for a way to simulate the logic allowed by UUCP when it tries to negoitate a remote login. Does anyone see how to do this, or is the 7300 autologin just a little too limited to handle it. -- Ken Mandelberg Emory University Dept of Math and CS Atlanta, Ga 30322 {akgua,sb1,gatech,decvax}!emory!km USENET km@emory CSNET km.emory@csnet-relay ARPANET
