You might be alone with yourself! You might talk to your family/friends about something other than what you just saw/heard on TV/stereo/radio. Coming next year: surgically implantable Walkmans(tm), so you need never be without the comfort of pop 101 FM. What bothers me about the Tube is not the violence, just the sameness of it all. The same cop show (hip cops or country cops ? you choose) plays endlessly on channel < >. We can all sit in our standard houses watching standard shows in our own standard way. Does a multiplicity of programming sources result in diversity? or just more of the same, as the mass marketeers thunder down that glorious middle of the road. Excuse me, I want to scan my satellite TV channels now. Y'know what Johnny Carson said last night ? ..
