Does anyone out there understand how the UNIX PC handles printers? I have been working on this problem for weeks and not making much progress. Specifically, where does it store its knowledge of the printers (such as ATT 455 and Epson) known to the user agent? What I am trying to do is take full advantage of a Juki 6100 daisy wheel printer, which is Diablo 630 compatible. The owner's manual, on Page D-7, seems to be indicating that the Diablo 630 can be driven by the ATT455 setup. I have better luck with the "Other" setting, for dumb printers. Special features of the printer such as proportional spacing and reverse linefeeds won't seem to kick in. Does anyone have suggestions? -- David Dalton [kitty!gladys!david | ihnp4!gladys!david]
