I do not see a way to write to a MS-DOS floppy via the "floppy disk operations" menu. Am I missing something? Does anyone have a program that allows one to write to a MS-DOS floppy? As always, thanks in advance! -- David Hinnant SCI Systems, Inc. ...{decvax, akgua}!mcnc!rti-sel!scirtp!dfh

Version 3.0 of the operating system includes the ability to *write* to MS-DOS floppies. Version 2.0 only allowed you to read them. Gregg UUCP: ihnp4!{ptsfa,hplaps,lll-crg,hoptoad}!well!gregg CIS: 74036,2576

That's what you use. It will not allow you to overwrite files that are already there, however, which is something of an inconvenience if you are trying to update a file - esp since you have no way of removing the file from the diskette short of reformatting the diskette. That I know of, anyway. I used Version 2 of the System V on the 7300 before and didn't look in the manual for my machine which now runs Version 3. The newer version does indeed have a pop up window for reading and writing MS-DOS files. Thanks... -- David Hinnant SCI Systems, Inc. ...{decvax, akgua}!mcnc!rti-sel!scirtp!dfh
