{Please excuse me if this message goes all over the world.
Didn't know what the appropriate newsgroups is, except this.
Direct your flame if any to /dev/null}
Well, finally, I got my own unix pc to play around
with. I however encountered a few problems that I don't
know how to fix, and would like some help/hints on how to
fix them:
1) umodem to receive binary (and text) from Unix host
did not quite work: it stops at middle of the
transfer, and unix pc gave some error/diagnose
about "time-out". I however successfully receive
a very short file once.
Copy screens works fine for now for me to receive files
but not to send files.
Sometimes because of these problems, I get one of these
errors when I try to "umodem" again:
a) a "system not respond" message from host, with
a lot of crtl-S as input to host (from unix pc I suppose)
b) Or, an error from pc at the first attempt to re-dial
the host, but usually second re-dial works. (umodem
still doesn't work).
Note: the line seems to be OK. In terminal emulation, I don't
get much of extraneous garbage.
2) Every time I click the "HISTORY" command with call screen
present (line is idle), the phone status disappears, and
every other window disappears except the office window.
I then cannot run the Phone Manager again, until I
shut-down or reboot the system.
3) Does the reset/break key work as default to stop a process from
at least from i/o? Does not seem to work on mine.
THanks for any helps.
