[net.micro.att] Killing windows on the 7300

katinsky@topaz.RUTGERS.EDU (David Katinsky) (10/29/86)

I prefer to run my 7300 from ksh rather than ua, but on the
occasions when I *do* use ua, I experience a problem upon exiting.
What happens is that I am dumped back into my ksh in a little window
that was my Office. I know that the window can be resized, but I would
very much prefer to get rid of it altogether. Unfortunately, I do not
have any docs on the libraries yet, so I cannot write a procedure to
return me to the state was in before executing ua.
BTW, *I* consider this a bug!!! In my opinion it is improper
to write a program like this and not return the user back to the state
that he was in previously. If someone has written a program to do
this, I would very much appreciate a copy, or if someone can direct me
to the appropriate calls for C--that would be great as well. The main
reason for all of this is that MicroEmacs is much easier to work with
when you have command off the entire screen. Also, note that this is
only a problem on the console, as the old windowing cruft will scroll
off of a remote.

				Thanks in advance,

				dmk
