[net.music.gdead] Query, bagpipes

[don't murder me]

I am looking for any information on a particular rendition of
St. Stephen, the story is this. My SO says that when she was living in
Berkley around '77-'78 she heard a tape that had on it a rendition of
St. Stephen with someone playing a BAGPIPE. I know this seems strange
(or maybe it doesn't) but, I have noticed while listening to St.
Stephen on 'Live Dead' that there is a line there, played by the organ
that could have originally belonged to a bagpipe. Interestingly the
line is not in the version on 'AOXOMOXOA'. Has anybody else ever heard
this tape? Heard of this tape? Is it possible that they put this
version on vinyl on an album that I don't have? Any info would be
greatly appreciated.

It is on the Aoxomoxoa Outtakes bootleg. I have a tape of a real
scratchy copy played on a not up to par turntable. It is great fun
to listen to in a noisy environment where the tape noise is obscured
but the bag-pipes and other stuff can be heard quite distinctly. There
is also a rendition of "The Eleven" with a cello and the infamous "Barb
Wire Whipping Party." If noone else has a copy I could probably dupe mine
if you don't mind the lack of quality. If anyone has a better copy I
wouldn't mind doing some trading to get a copy...
