Just had a great visit with the Dead. They were here in Irvine, Ca. for two nites, two great nites. The sound was superb, much to the delight of the tapers. The band was quite animated as well. The highlights (for me) were a beautiful rendition of "Dear Mr. Fantasy" the second night, and "Crazy Fingers" the first night. Both nights the band came out for the first set and ripped through three numbers non-stop. The crowd was in a good mood as well, despite evening chills the second night. I think everyone was glad to be outdoors. The first night saw scalpers getting $30 or more, but the second night (Sunday) we couldn't give tickets away. I also had the pleasure of meeting some fellow DeadNetters in the flesh, tho taping tied me up for most of both evenings, so not much chance to visit. Special thanks to Andy and Cliff for access to the tapers tickets. Copies are available (you too, Greg). Anyway, the evenings went as follows: Irvine Meadows Dead: 4-13-85 4-14-85 Why Don't We Do It Touch Of Grey In The Road Hell In A Bucket Bertha Sugaree Jack Straw Down In The Bottom West L.A.
