I went through a period where I would buy as many tickets as allowed (by the rules or financial restrictions) for every show, knowing that my friends would probably need some and that I could always sell/trade/give them away. It seemed like a great way to make sure that all my friends would be able to get in, keep tickets out of the hands of the scalpers, and just basically help out people who didn't happen to have any money at the time tickets went on sale. Lately I've come to see a problem with this plan. There are many people whose decision to travel a large distance to see a set of shows is based partly on whether they have tickets or not. By buying up four or six sets of tickets for some set of shows you may be cancelling someone's trip out to those shows. I've started just ordering my own tickets and maybe one extra set.(to use for enticing someone from around here into going and giving me a ride in the process. Not noble, but practical ). Basically, while its nice to have a lot of extras to turn on to people, its not fair to deplete the pool of available tickets and thereby possibly deter other people from going to the shows. 'Least that's the way it looks to me. -- Ken Cluff {decvax|dcdwest|ihnp4|ucbvax}!sdcsvax!sdcc3!sdcc12!ph28kc
