[net.music.gdead] Bobby and Brent in the Haight

GUMBY@MIT-MC.ARPA (06/11/85)

From: David Vinayak Wallace <GUMBY@MIT-MC.ARPA>

Sunday at the Haight Street Fair, Bob and Brent Played with Merle Saunders,
John Cippollina, Nick Gravenites, Pamela Rose, and about four others we
didn't recognise (one of the others is in the Dinosaurs, tho). Although
they played as "Merle Saunders and Friends," the crowd appeared to be
mostly dead-heads (at this particular set).

It was excellent. They played for about 80-90 minutes. Perhaps someone
else who was there can fill in the gaps where we didn't know the song
title?

Wang Dang Doodle
???
Big City Blues
???
???
Women are Smarter
I'm not Built for Speed
High-heeled Sneakers
Johnny B. Goode

I didn't know Bob had it in him!

> I'm not Built for Speed

If I'm not mistaken, this is an old Howlin' Wolf tune, and the correct
title is "Built for Comfort".

"I'm built for comfort, I ain't built for speed"
