HEY NOW! I too have to disagree with Sat being the high point of the series. While all shows were indeed hot, Sunday definatly seemed the high point to me. "Walking Blues" rocked (Jerry was practically dancing!), "The (whole) Other One" was a complete blow away, and "Brokedown" put the final touch on great weekend, making it very difficult to turn down those offers for rides to Alpine Valley. Of course there's quite a bit of area for debate about the whole subject of 'hot shows'. I've had incredibly great times at shows which were pretty horrible when I listened to the tapes later, and I've felt kind of sour about shows that had all my freinds buzzing for days. Some of it is no doubt the perceptual alterations caused by the various chemicals different people did and didn't choose to injest for that particular show, some can be where you happen to spend most of the concert - sound being very different in different parts of some venues. Every so often though, there's a show that's so hot, so undeniably high, that everone, dancer, taper, stoned, straight, or somewhere in between, just goes WOW! I wouldn't say that happened at these Greeks, but in recent memory, the fall tour Augusta shows and the Nov 2 BCT seemd to do it to everyone I know. Really hot shows also tend to circulate on bootlegs, withstanding the test of time, while mediocre ones fade away into tape-dollar-conserving obscurity. Enough of this from me; love to hear some other folk's thoughts on the subject. For Dick Dunn: I think the person you were referring to was Dan Healy (sp?) tho I didn't see the incident you mentioned. Good luck and safe trips to those going on summer tour, wish I was going with you. Try and post the set lists if you can. See you all in Ventura. PS: Once again, Who's got those tapes ?
