After reading some of the articles about Dead cover bands on the East
coast, I thought I'd give a plug for my favorite band in St. Louis for those
of you there or anyone passing thru (St. Louis is a nice place to visit but
I wouldn't want to live there - I know, I used to live there :-)).
Anyway, the band is Jakes Leg. Anyone reading The Golden Road probably
saw them listed in the article featuring Dead cover bands recently. They usually
play at 20 North and Calicos (these two bars are 1/2 block apart) around the
St. Louis University area. The also play Washington University. I used to
bartend at 20 North just to listen to them. If you are in the area, go see them!

P.S. If you go see them, say HI to Randy Furrer (one of the guitar players)
for me. I only get to see him at Christmas time now that I live in San Diego.
He's one of my best friends back there and would get a kick that you heard
about them from me.
