This gathering, more commonly known as the Rainbow Gathering, will be held this year in the Allegheny National Forest in western Pennsylvania, at the usual time (late June/early July with the peak at July 4th). This info comes from the Haight-Ashbury Switchboard, which probably should know. The actual site is selected in late June depending on the local terrain and expected weather. If you head for northwestern Penna in late June and ask around, you'll find it. Look for hippies wearing rainbows, and follow them; or ask the Forest Service. I grew up in that area and it's a beautiful place, full of rolling tree- covered hills, no cities, scatterred small towns.
