[net.music.synth] Touch Sensitive Remote keyboards

Roland has two remote keyboards available which do not contain
any sound generating circuitry in their own right -they are meant
to be MIDI controllers. One keyboard controller is in the over
$2000.00 price range and has the feel of a grand piano -but
the weight of the instrument is incredible. I believe it would
take two people to set up. They also have a smaller, organ-type
MIDI controller which is also lower in cost -someone who is
more familiar with Roland equipment might be able to elaborate.

I`m looking forward to the new Oberheim XK ( I believe this is the
corect model name). It is a remote keyboard MIDI controller
that has attack AND release velocity sensitivity as well as pressure
sensitivity. It also has three zone capability (the ability to
split the keyboard into three sections for three individual sounds.)
It should enhance the capabilities of the Oberheim
Xpander (or any other MIDI devices which it can address) and is
supposed to retail for $900.00. The same keyboard is also supposed
to available in their new Matrix-12 synth, only the Matrix-12 is to
have six-zone capability.

Hope this is useful information.

Actually, you can have it for around $1600.
