A friend of mine was wondering if anyone out here knew anything about a Korg BX-3. He is most interested in how good it sounds especially with respect to the Hammond B3. -- Dave arpa: Sewhuk.HENR@Xerox.ARPA uucp: {allegra, rochester, amd, sunybcs}!rocksvax!dave

Last summer, my group did a party with another group. Their keyboardist offered the use of his Korg, knowing that I used a big ol' heavy modified Model D (modified to contain B3 features). I Went over to his house, tried it out, and decided to lug my D out for the show instead. It sounded sort of like a Hammond but that certain colorful magical set of overtones was missing. I would not recommend the BX-3 to a true Hammond lover. BTW, I finally did get sick of dragging around that monster, and decided to play all my Hammond parts on my Poly-800, which I think has a more convincing Hammond sound than the BX-3. Check it out. -etan
