[ They Pelted Us with Rocks and Garbage! ] Greetings, Net-Land... Just got off the phone with Wendy Carlos, and I have lots of important stuff to tell all. First and most important is that Wendy will be holding a lecture/seminar at Tower Records in New York City on Wed. March 27, 1985 - the title is "Wendy Carlos and the LSI Phil- harmonic Orchestra appearing Live with a Presentation on Electronic Synthesis and the Future of Music - The Three T's" - Now, I am not sure what all of that means, but it's exactly what Wendy gave to me, and if anybody can shed some light on what these three T's are, I'd appreciate it. The lecture is taking place at Tower Records, on Broadway & 4th Street in New York, New York, at 8:00pm, March 27. There will be a question and answer session with Wendy immediately following the talk; at this point, I am not exactly sure how long it will be. Now, on a different topic - Roland is getting into Personal Computer Midi interfacing. The latest flash (this also came from Wendy) is the model MPU-401(APL) and MUP-401(PC) for the Apple and IBM PC, respectively. MPU stands for Midi Processing Unit; what I know about it is that it has two midi out's and one in, a metronome out, some sync ports, and a tape in and out to dump sequences from this interface directly to tape. I don't know much more about it than that, except that Roland is interested in getting into RS-232C type of stuff and is experimenting now. Well, that's about it from the peanut gallery.
