[net.sf-lovers] Human, Vulcan, ego

Whoosh, folks, shield's down, for pete's sake. First, excuse me if my first
note came off as a flame -- I'm sorry. Re-reading it, the word "warped"
(e.g. warped factor 2) was definately the wrong word to use. I also assumed
that this was a rather light comment on the part of M. Leeper, and apologize
if my comments came off as anything less light than his original posting.

I still don't think of this scene as patronizing or degrading; Kirk's grief
seems real (or as real as William Shatner can manage). So we have a
difference of opinion in film, which is the spice and life of the net. I'm
only sorry to see so many people taking this whole thing so seriously,
flaming Mark or counter-flaming, etc., etc. My only general comment is that
I would not recommend all of Star Trek as a guide for race relations on
Earth (though several episodes struck me as particularly shrewd -- but
that's emotions in play, folks :-)).

Anyway, enough already. Sorry if I aided in any outbreak of nastiness. I
thought that my response was amusing, also; sorry if it didn't come off that
way.

PS To get onto other subjects, where are all those juicy ST IV rumors? All I
know is that shooting starts this month.

                                lock them in another room."
