Would y'all believe that Kraftwerk's first two lps, and especially the first, featured a lot of free floating music that sounds more like what one would expect from Cage or Stockhausen? It's true! Of course, those lps didn't gain the popularity of Autobahn and subsequent lps. Early stuff was often without any strong beat even if there was one present. Early stuff was somewhat like "Morning Walk" from Autobahn. or if you could imagine Autobahn without the easy listening, pop melodies. the first lp was called "Kraftwerk". I don't remember the name of the second both issued in early seventies Autobahn and Radioactivity were pop and easy going. 1974 and 1975 Man Machine and Trans Europe were morelike electronic disco with strong rhythm but were still respectable by many "progressive rock" tastes Computerworld was a disco hit in Europe and the US And it is a 180 degree turn from the meditative floating music of their early lps. Eno fans (No Pussyfooting, Evening Star) might like early Kraftwerk if they should be so fortunate as to even locate a copy. cosmic Ray
