If your budget is a little flexable I'd recommend trying the Roland Jupeter 6 ($2395). It has about the best piano sound I've heard in a synth, excluding the higher(est) priced units. *db*

Another choice is the Ensonic Mirage. It has a very nice sound to it, and its cost is only 1695$. It is MIDI, so a Roland Key Controller would make a perfect match. ima!pbear!peterb ihnp4!inmet!pbear!peterb

It's far superior to all of the piano programs on the Planet-P module also designed for use with the MIDI keyboards. (Actually, I think the non-weighted though touch sensitive version of the MIDI keyboard costs a bit less than $2K.) -- "Ya dee apockety, rum fing f'doo. Ni, ni, ni, YOWWWWWWWWWW!" The super jupiter from Roland -does- great piano sounds. A velocity MIDI keyboard is required; as a lot of the feel comes from the velocity modulation. Without a velocity keyboard, you can still get some amazing patches, but they are a bit more aseptic. datacube!shep
