*** REPLACE THIS NOTE WITH YOUR CHORD ***

I just purchased the Tascam Portastudio, which is a 4-track cassette
deck. It is well worth the money. I am new to multitracking and I
was wondering if anyone with any experience with multitracking, 4-track
casette multitracking, etc. could give me some pointers and or advice
on using this deck.

  Thanks in advance.

My friend and I have done a lot of work with decks like the Tascam (such
as the Fostex) and the configuration that we use involves using and old
dbx(tm) stereo noise reduction. This helps to cut down on a lot of the
noise that you get from the preamp section of most of these small decks.
Another thing that we have found to be helpful is to use a 2nd tape deck
(such as a stereo cassette deck) to bounce stereo mixes onto, and then we
start the whole thing over with our previous material on the tracks 1 and
2 of the cassette.

Good luck and always keep tape rolling...
