Well, here are the results of my keyboard query. In all, 17 people responded (there are 18 entires; one is my own). Make/Model Quantity out there in NETLAND. ---------------------------------------------- Yamaha DX-7 4 Akai AX-80 2 Casio CZ-101 2 Korg Poly Six 2 ARP Odyssey 1 Kawai SX-210 1 Korg DW-6000 1 Korg Poly-800 1 Oberheim Matrix-12 1 Roland Juno-60 1 Roland JX-3P 1 Serge 1 I haven't seen any patches posted yet, so I will post a few in a few days. Unfortunately, the Yamaha DX-7 owners will have to help each other out, and post their own patches because their method of creating sounds is very different from the VCO/VCF method. Scott Aurenz (ihnp4!uiucdcs!uiucuxc.Uiuc.ARPA!aurenz) mentioned that it might be more useful sharing synthesis techniques than the patches themselves. I'm all for it, but I haven't seen much help in the synth programming area on this newsgroup. BTW, Scott also mentioned that "if you use ~1 Hz fixed-frequency carriers (on the DX-7) you can get some good chorusing effects" I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not for you DX-7 owners, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway. Anyway, thanks to all who responded. -- Danny Espinoza bellcore!dje or dje@bellcore.ARPA
