With egg on my face, I apologize for getting anyone's hopes up because of my
error. It seems I was mixing up my numbers with the DW600, although I am
familiar with both machines and remember remarking to myself that it seemed
strange that the DW8000 was as cheap as the DW6000. The DW6000's are going
for $599 in the Chicago area, and I called up the local 2-bit music store about
a DW8000 and was quoted at $925 (Sound Works, Woodridge). I believe the large-
volume distributors (like DJ's and Guitar Center) will, with a little
dickering, come down to somewhere in the upper-$800's.

I've had several correcting responses via e-mail, some of which indicated
that they were getting ready to take a cross-country drive. Maybe you'll
want to change your minds now.
