Does anyone know where (if anywhere) Yamaha has published or released the formats of the MIDI system exclusive messages for the DX7 and RX11 ? I'm talking about the byte by byte description of the exclusive message packets, NOT the "MIDI implementation chart". Newer Yamaha products like the TX7 and QX7 do have this information published, but it is very terse and occasionally wrong. Any pointers to documents or people are welcome. There is a document available at no cost from Yamaha
(or really, from your Yamaha dealer) which has the
information you're looking for. I haven't tried to
implement anything from it, but it seems pretty complete
to me. It has byte-by-byte descriptions of messages,
ranges of parameters, opcodes of different operations,
etc. Just ask for one; your dealer should be able to
order it. Hope this helps.
