Since I know there's AKAI users out there, I thought I'd summarize some new equipment being advertised (on page 49, December Keyboard) They are: ME-10D MIDI Digital Delay : $149.95 Continuously variable 0-1 second delay in MIDI data stream, thus eliminating distortion problems and such. Also has a knob labeled 'Dynamics'.. anyone know what that might do? Can shift MIDI notes up/down one octave. ME-15F MIDI Dynamics Controller : $149.95 'MIDI signals can be intelligently mixed together without deterioration of sound quality. Only now is it possible to interconnect two sequencers ... to change the dynamic data at the data editing stage.' Has four knobs for channels 1-4 or 5-8 (your choice) and two (not mentioned) modes. Anyone know what this does? ME-20A MIDI Sequence Arpeggiator : (guess how much? yup:) $149.95 Has these controls: Buttons for 'Step' 'Rec Pattern' 'Rec Chord' 'Play' 'Stop' 'Pattern Seq' 'Pattern Up' 'Pattern Down' as well as knobs for 'Speed' 'Gate time' and the ever present 'Dynamics' (!?!?). Also functions as a 1056 note polyphonic sequencer, but they imply that this is difficult to do, i.e. not real time. Also has jack for foot switch. All three are 19" rack mount. The entire ad is written in a way that implies it has been translated from some oriental language (no offense to anyone) by someone not remarkably skilled in English (just like their documentation). Seems like their motto is 'Documentation? What about man's eternal search for knowledge?' (or some- thing like that - Cyrano Jones, The Trouble with Tribbles) Anyways, that's about it. If someone could enlighten me on the function of the 'Dynamics' controls, I'd appreciate it.
