I had this problem a few months ago. The low frequencies would transmit through the building, treating my downstairs neighbor to frequent low rumbling sounds (not the music really, just the very low part of the spectrum). My amplifier has a 'loudness' button, which I usually had engaged. Playing the stereo without this feature solved the problem. Simple and cheap. If this applies to your system you may be able to save some money by trying this first. Scot
