For all the musicians, be they professional, or personal:
Hi! I'd like to know if there are any good mail-order places for
musical instruments, equipment and accessories. I'm not interested
in stereo equipment or records; someone else may take that up (in
net.audio, of course). If you know of any place, be they good or bad,
please mail me a response. If there's enough interest, I'll
summarize and post. I'm sure this information would be beneficial
to all, be they the hobbiest or the touring musician.
To make things easier, please send the following:
1) the outlet's name, address and phone number (and note if they
have an 800 number)
2) the merchandise they carry (ie specialize in guitars, synths,
sheet music, drums, etc or just say general merchandise)
3) Your experiences with them, be they good or bad;
4) Your idea of how their prices are, how fast items were delivered,
and how consumer-friendly they were;
5) Their refund policies (if you don't know, don't sweat it).
6) Their methods of payment (check, cashier's check, credit card,
and any minimum order requirements)
I have a current need for information on guitar strings (bulk) and
picks (customized, such as lettering and characters), however, other
information on good sellers of general merchandise would be greatly
appreciated by all.
