With all the new sampling machines that were shown at the Winter NAMM show, do any of them have individual outputs (like the EMU Emulator II). A sampling machine with up to sixty splits would encourage the use of that machine as a percussion source for pseudo-drum machine use. Most professional drum machines have individual outputs, to allow for separate processing of the bass, snare, etc (also a plus for live performance). However, the prophet-2000, Mirage, etc only have (at the most) two outputs. Any one have experience with custom modification of any of the new machines to have individual outputs? Also, at the NAMM winter show, was there a demonstration of sampling data transmission across MIDI? I heard that this capability was being studied by he people at EMU and Sequential. I believe that this capability will allow sounds in an E-II to be transmitted to a prophet-2000, Kurzweil, etc. to be stored and played from those respective instruments. Bob Neumann
