I recently heard a shocking news that John Higgins - one of the greatest musicians in Carnatic Music - was a victim in an accident. Is this really true?(I wish it is not). As far as my knowledge goes, he was a professor of music in an university in United States. Those of you who are familiar with Carnatic Music would have known about him; his talent, his capacity to perform this classical music with extreme perfection, authority and sincerety. Thanks. Yes, it's true. Jon Higgins was killed by a hit and run truck driver (who was later arrested) about 2 months back. I read the news in the NYT. He was 45 and was professor of music at the Wesleyan Univ in Connecticut. D.N.Jayasimha Univ of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, {ihnp4, pur-ee, convex}!uiucdcs!jayasim
