[net.nlang.india] Motels in U.S.A. & Indians

sunil@ut-ngp.UUCP (Sunil Trivedi) (02/17/85)

No fluke, Indians are 'big' in the motel business in
the Southern and Western sections of the US. Usually,
they are family-run and are small, though some have
branched out to the likes of Ramada Inns and Rodeway
Inns. These lodging-Indians predominately come from
Gujarati-speaking communities like the Patels, Jains,
and Ismailis [Aga Khanis]. Many are immigrants from
[formerly British] East Africa.

If anyone has had any positive or negative experiences
with any of these Indian-run motels, you may want to
let others know as they may want to especially seek
or avoid lodging at these places as they journey across
the United States.

Patel Motels, en route from Maryland to D.C., is great !
For 6 bucks a night, they provide single room luxury, with --

MIRRORS, MIRRORS, MIRRORS on the walls, ceiling, bedside, bathroom !!
Probably to catch a better view of the fair one.
