In the latest Locus (#302) is the following classified ad:

Worlds of IF will be returning later this year to bookstores and newsstands
across the country, continuing the popular and award-winning tradition
begun in 1952.

IF will print a wide range of material: stories ranging from hard-science to
fantasy, through provoking and informative articles, regular columns
(including book reviews by Orson Scott Card), and the "IF first" -- in each
bimonthly issue, one or more stories by previously unpublished authors will
appear.

Single copies of IF will be available for $1.95. Our first issue (on sale
May 1) contains work by A.E. Van Vogt, Roger Zelazny, Larry Niven, and many
more! for a limited time, subscriptions will be available for the low price
of $6.50 for 6 issues (1 year), or $11.25 for 12 issues (2 years), at more
than half off the cover price.

For more info, send sase to: Worlds of IF, P.O. Box 93, Hicksville, NY
11802.

Does anyone know anything about who is behind this? Before IF was integrated
into Galaxy magazine in the 70's, it was one of the innovative and
experimental magazines out there. If it is really coming back, it is
something to keep an eye on. With Scithers being kicked off of Amazing for
an inhouse TSR type, I don't hold out much hope for a lot of interesting
fiction there, which leaves F&SF and the unknown at IASFM. We could really
use a good SF magazine, and maybe this is it... For six bucks, its worth a
shot....
