India defeated Pakistan to win the Benson and Hedges Cup. The scores
were :
Pakistan 176 for 9 in 50 overs
India 177 for 2 in 48.1 overs
Ravi Shastri won the Man of the series award( actually called the
champion of champions).
In the final Kapil Dev and Sivaramakrishnan claimed 3 wickets each.
Srikanth scored a fantastic 67 with 2 sixers and 4 boundaries.
Ravi Shastri remained not out with 63 and Vengsarkar with 18.
Azharuddin was out for 25.
