Following is a letter which I received recently, requesting me to comment
on the performance of the IITs and suggestions for future implementations.
If anyone in netland(from IITs) has any comments etc. etc. they may direct
them to the address given in the following letter.

Dear Mr. Tikku,
The Indian Institutes of Technology have completed a quarter of a
Century of existence. The President of India, in his capacity as
VISITOR of IITs, has appointed a reviewing committee to critically
look into their past performances and recommend actions for the future.
You had been through the IIT education. Subsequently you might have had
experience in education & research in higher institutions of learning
abroad; also, you may have had opportunities to interact with alumni of
these foriegn institutions in different fields of activities.
The reviewing committee feels that with this background, your comments and
observations on the functioning of IITs and suggestions on their future
growth, will be of an invaluable input to its deliberations. May I request
you, therefore, to spare some time to collate and put down your thoughts
on this subject in a brief note. Your comments, specially on some of the
issues listed in the enclosure will be of immense use.
In case you know any IIT-IANS, who have not received our letter, can you
also request them to send their comments on "Questionnaire-D" enclosed with
this letter.
