Uh..Uh, What do you mean by "an unflinching Indian"?.
Me? I DO NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF COLOR, RELIGION,
NATIONAL ORIGIN, OR TO THAT MATTER NATIONAL BOUNDARIES. :-)
The world is one big sea of Human Mess!! Ha! ;-)

Is this person serious? I don't see any smiley faces in his text. I'll
assume that he is also one of the "enlightened" Indian -else how would
he get hold of the "petition"?. I hope he posts a followup explaining
the abscence of smiley faces. The petition can be notthing but a joke!:-)

I sure would like to know who these people are! Perhaps they are
tired of living in a country where democracy is yet to be
understood by a large number of people --> that the power to
rule themselves is in themselves. I suppose 40 years is still not
sufficient for a country which has been under the rule of
many, many kings and queens. One has to keep in mind that, in India,
the cause of so much disturbances after independance may be due to
suddenly obtaining "freedom" .(Sure , I know how long the struggle
for independance was, compare it with what South Africa is going thro')
Just speculating. May be I am wrong, but I think that, the years of
oppression has imprinted on the minds of people that authoritarian
rule is the course to law and order. It would take several generations
of people born after independance to realise, what exactly democracy
means. I hope that Indian democracy lives long enough for such a
realisation.

From what I have seen on the net, about India and the media,
about what class we fall into, I am begining to see that a
serious identity crisis is prevalent in the Indians here.
Once again I confess, I may be wrong, but, the growth of
Indian democracy may be compared to such identity crisis
that many people go through their lives, especially in their
adolescence. Perhaps this is what is happening. Then again
   it is anybody's guess!
