M.S. Ramaiah Medical College (Banglore, Karnataka, India) put an ad in the INDIA ABROAD stating that "You can join the Medical College after passing high school with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Only a few seats are reserved for U.S. Students of Indian Origin and your seat can be confirmed on first-come basis by the Authorised Representative." How do donation medical (and engineering) colleges like M.S.Ramaiah (above) rate facility-wise and faculty-wise? How much money must be "donated" to get into these donation colleges? What other requirements do these donation colleges have? What has the general reaction been to these offers by the Indians (deshis) who live in the States? A family friend's child who grew up in the US & Canada went to the Dominican Republic to get his M.D. Won't the grads of these medical colleges have trouble in the U.S.? How do they usually fare on the ECFMG and on getting residency at hospitals? How are grads of donation colleges treated in India for jobs? How do the state and federal governments in India look at these colleges? Sunil Trivedi P.O.
