*** This message is a followup of the one I posted a few days ago. As mentioned there I wish the invite my mother to visit me and intend to sponsor her visit to US. I am a full time grad. at UT., Austin. I am supported by my dept. Do you folks know what the supporting documents I need to send home which my mom could present to the US consulate while applying for a tourist visa ? Am I supposed to fill the INS form I 134 (Affidavit of financial support) ? some of my friends tell me that only those setteled in US (PRs, naturalised citizens) should fill the form. The immigration advisor at our Intl. office does'nt know. Will the chances of getting a tourist visa be increased by sending her all the supporting papers since I happen to be a full time grad. on a F-1 visa ? as against one of my cousins providing the same ? My cousin is setteled in this country. I would appreciate hearing from those of you who have had similar experience . I shall also summarize the response I get at a future date. Thanks a lot.
