* This refers to a recent article regarding green card and dowry. Should a green card considered as dowry? In my opinion, the answer is no. The brides father must be perfectly aware of the situation of the brideroom before the marriage. So, it is at his own risk as well as his own choice. Actually, a naturalized citizen (permanent visa or citizen) can be stripped of his rights if it can be proved that the marriage was a matter of convenience. Very often, the brides father forgoes this right to avoid embarrassment, but I think the federal overnment government gives him enough privacy and he should go ahead with a lawsuit if he thinks his daughter has been cheated. ** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE ***
