>> = Velu > = Ajami >>and the independence of India occurred very close together) of Israel because >>it did not see a viable leadership for Palestine. Since the Palestinians >>(sp?) had no viable leadership, India knew that the formation of Israel, and >I think I could easily have been against the formation of India on the >grounds of potential anarchy in the subcontinent. Certainly more people >have been killed in Muslim/non-Muslim violence in India than in the >Middle East. What the hell does Ajami's statement have to do with Velu's? Velu was talking about the viability of the Palestine leadership and Ajami is talking about Muslin/non-Muslim violence. So, what does it establish? >India has much more trade with S. Africa than Israel does. Also a much >larger number of Indians than Jews live in S. Africa and they seem to >do well. Speaking of lies and untruths...how about backing up this one with some cold hard facts, eh? >Gandhi was quite upset that as a British citizen he was not treated equal >to the whites. As far as I know he never condemned the subjugation of the >blacks. I am not even going to comment on this except to say that it's quite obvious you haven't read Gandhi or anything about Gandhi. I suggest you pick up a copy of Eric Ericsson's (sp?) book on Gandhi. >Given the amount of lies and hypocrisy in Sinha's article, I would, if I >were an Israeli and if Sinha's attitudes were typical of Indians, be quite >glad that Israel and India had little in the way of relations. Conversely, I would, if I were an Indian citizen (I am a US citizen) and if your attitudes were typical of Israelis, also be quite glad that Israel and India had little in the way of relations. I think that Velu had some valid points (I didn't agree with everything he said) but, I feel that your response was way out of proportion. If you can't carry on a civilized discussion, without personally attacking people's integrity, I suggest you censor yourself. One more thing, I suggest you also read a few books by T.V. Parasuram on the Indian Jews and their history. -- praveen This ain't my goddamn planet, monkey-boy! phaedrus@eneevax.arpa or {seismo,allegra}!umcp-cs!eneevax!phaedrus
