To my knowledge, last year there was a communal riot in Bombay.

It appears that the overall objective of my posting has fallen flat on you
and you have misconstrued to conclude that I tried to justify the carnage
that followed the assassination of Mrs Gandhi. Whether one hysterically
(comparing the event with Hitler's holocaust or the "Train from Pakistan")
protests or mutely observes, everyone condemns the dastardly and retributive
acts that affected many innocent people. But I think it is inane to
relentlessly (it's more than a year since Mrs. Gandhi episode occurred)
censure the Govt. of India, the Indian media, etc., because of
the mistake of a handful of demented people. That is raucous fuss which
is LIKELY to yield NOTHING GOOD and hence MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.
