This note is in response to previous articles about studies in India. There is enough opportunity for american students to study in India, while registered as a student in some university in USA. I have known some american students who had been to India to learn sanskrit, Indian music, Indian languages, and heard of students who had been to study geography, education, history, and anthropology, art, pol. sc., international studies, and economics. In most cases, it is possible to get a fellowship (like Fulbright fellowship) for these purposes. I, at this moment, don't have info about all such sources, deadlines to apply etc. I suggest the interested parties contact the International house/office for foreign students in respective universities. They maintain an up-to-date list. Cheers, Keshab parhi@cad.berkeley.edu
