This is new from Compuserve. A nice little DA which blanks the screen after an idle time period. In the author's words: ScreenSave Written by John R. Dance ScreenSave is a desk accessory that will paint the Macintosh screen black whenever it is left idle for a specified number of minutes. Only the cursor will remain visible. Install ScreenSave with the Desk Accessory Mover. When you select ScreenSave, an additional menu selection named Delay will be added to the menu bar. Pull down Delay to specify the length of idle time (idle time = no mouse button or keys pressed) before the screen is blackened. The options are 2 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. After you select the delay time you want, the Delay menu will disappear. If anytime during the day, you leave the Macintosh idle for more than your specified delay time, the screen will be painted black. To continue with your work, press the mouse button. After resuming work, ScreenSave is still active, you do not have to re-initialize it! To cancel ScreenSave, select Cancel from the Delay menu. To change the delay time, just select the new delay time you want. Notice that the current delay time is always checked. To check if you have already installed ScreenSave, just pull down the Delay menu and see if any of the times are checked. To get rid of the Delay menu, select Remove Menu. Note that the menu will automatically disappear after selecting any delay time or cancel. (You will normally just use this after checking the current setting.) Feel free to use ScreenSave and give it to your friends. (Also, please give them this short document.) Of course, you are not to sell ScreenSave, or claim it as yours. Hopefully, ScreenSave is the first of many helpful tools. Use it for awhile, see if you like it. Contributions (although not tax deductible) are accepted! Any contributions will help me on my other projects. Thanks for your support! If you have any comments, suggestions (or contributions), feel free to write me. John R.
