Being a new Megamax C user, I cheerfully downloaded the source for Steve Hawley's Star Wars Trench simulator and fired up my compiler. The compiler took exception to the lack of a declaration for the loop counter "index". Well I gladly supplied that and it compiled with no additional problems. I then linked it up and executed. I saw about half a second of trench before it crashed. Megamax doesn't supply any serious (Macish) sample programs. I'm sure there are others out there who, like me, love to see sources posted. Please make sure that what you post *at least* compiles before you upload, and it would be great if it ran also. The binary version posted a few days back crashed instantly, but that was probably a transmission problem. How about a fix Steve? -- -Tom Thomas C. Palmer palmer@unc decvax!mcnc!unc!palmer

My guess is ** that would be as serious as you could want. > I'm sure there are others out there who, like me, love to see > sources posted. Palmer > palmer@unc decvax!mcnc!unc!palmer I to had problens with getting the trench simulator running. But if you recall it was in binhex.hex format, I seemed to remember someone saying that spaces were significant or some such. I finally noticed that binhex version four was making a 0k resource file hmmm... got out the trusty editor and sure enough there were lines that were "physically" shorter than others also the whole file was double spaced. Well after deleting all those lines and padding the short lines. I tried version four and got a 3k file that works fine. How bout we all try and use version four because that format seems to work nicest for transfers. If you haven't got it I'd be glad to send it to you as I'm sure many others would be. Hope this helps. dave !uwvax!geowhiz!schuh PS. I tried the file with the double spacing intack but padded and it was no go.
