As advertised in net.micro.mac:
PurgeIcons. When launched allows you to select the mounted disk and
eject and mount other disks from which you wish to purge excess
icons, FREF's, etc. Does not effect folders or get info.
Mild warning: I have experienced bombs when purging a large number of disks in
a row and if running PurgeIcons after copying a large number of files between
disks. The bombs have never caused any harm, but the purge operation was
not completed on the disk I was operating on at the time.
My recommendation: Shutdown before using to clear in memory references
after a copy, and don't operate on more than two ( I didn't count, but I know
two works ) disks per run.

I use the program frequently and am happy with it within the qualifications
given above. (Isn't the modern world wonderful? Pretty soon the disclaimers
will be longer than the programs.)
