Yesterday's Sunday Oregonian had an article about a possible sale of the Ackerman sci-fi collection to a group in Cleveland. Except for a period after the his middle initial, it looked like a press release written by Ackerman himself. (As I understand it, Ackerman likes his name written: Forrest J(no period) Ackerman.) I doubt if anyone's going to come close to meeting Ackerman's terms. (They include $1 for every admission up to $2.5 million, and a fee as museum spokesman.) It looks to me like Ackerman is not really interested in selling the collection, but instead just wants some free publicity (which I have just provided). Does anyone know if my impression is correct?
