Here is a Binhexed, Packited set of documents related to Apple's Installer
Application. Included are the following:
1) A modified mac plus installer script which can be used with the
installer (1.0) to update a System , Finder, etc. to ANY VERSION which
you desire, NOT just System 3.0 /Finder 5.1. The only difference between
this script and Apple's Mac Plus Installer (1.0) script is that creation
dates are not checked on the source disk. Note,in order for this script
to work your source disk must have a System with Chooser, Control Panel
Scrapbook, Font DA Mover, AND all the other things which the script needs
to find on the source disk to carry out the update.
2) A "TMPL" to be installed in your ResEdit (type "insc") so that you
can create your own installer scripts, or edit already existing ones, with
the help of Technical Notes 75 & 76.
Notes about File Spec Flags:
bit 3 (of 16) is unset to prevent creation date checking.
bit 8 can be set to look in all folders. The same is true for bit 8
in the Resource Spec Flags.
The Installer must not be on the target disk.
To get Installer to work with ImageWriter or AppleTalk you must edit the
resource of type insc inside those files. (i.e. scripts are built in)
