[net.news.stargate] an element of USENET not in STARGATE

ee161aok@sdcc13.UUCP (ee161aok) (02/02/85)

The current news setup allows response to a message either
through posting another article on the net, or by mailing a response
directly to the author. I consider the second alternative to be as
important as the first. Will there be transmission time for single
user-to-user mail? Assuming there is not, I think that some sort
of mail service will have to be integrated into the STARGATE system.

The rest of you out there are lucky I mail most of my replies
directly to the author, rather than posting for all. It reduces the
clutter. I know that STARGATE is not trying to emulate USENET, but
certainly it can learn from the best parts of USENET.
