[net.news.stargate] What has happened with Stargate?

djw@lanl.ARPA (12/24/85)

Lauren; have you gotten any response from the manufacturers yet about the
Stargate decoders?

Is the hardware any closer to production? May we help? Is it possible to
develop hardware that will also decode the other blanking interval info?
Is such a question heretical? Is it possible that this board and the
Packet radio fraternity should be talking? Would that be something that
will be added as soon as there are enough of these made to justify the
vlsi replacement part... ( grandiose as you may think of that now; you just
mark my words... ).

What will Christmas 1986 bring? Now that satellite receivers are priced
less than $800.00 complete around here, they should be a reasonable family
present. Even Radio Shack carries them now, Ohmidawd. 13 Satellites; each
with 24 channels ( magically transmitting on 12 transponders ) and each
channel has its own 800 number and a promise to send you a 14 carat holy
artifact with each donation greater than $25.00.
