In Mr Carnes's latest entry on Marxist Dialectic, he presents a lengthy quotation of *Anti-Duhring* in which Engels does not explicitly endorse the views which I have claimed that he held. Such quotation does not refute my assertion. One can produce lengthy quotations of Aristoteles in which he does not explicitly endorse teleology, and lengthy quoations of Ayn Rand in which she does not explicitly endorse Egoism. By the way, I tend to agree with those who note important distinction between the views of Engels and those of Marx. just as there are important distinctions between the views of Jesus and those of the Apostles. But just as 'Christianity' refers to doctrines not endorsed by Jesus, 'Marxism' refers to doctrines not endorsed by Marx. It's not great nomenclature, but we're sort of stuck with it (for the time being). Back later, DKMcK
