And the opponents of socialized medicine do not tell you that the British
National Health is the perhaps the most cost-effective system, in terms
of expenditure as a percentage of GDP per patient, in the world.  The US
spends *much* more per-capita for a level of care that is certainly sexier,
with two CAT scanners in every garage, but only slightly more effective
(an additional 2 months male life expectancy).
